Pewaukee, WI, House Fire Restoration
What Happened
What turned into a whole-home remodel began as a small but significant fire in an upstairs bedroom of a Pewaukee, Wisconsin, home. Although the fire was contained to the second floor, the entire home suffered smoke and fire damage as well as extensive water damage from the process of putting out the fire. The homeowners called Kelmann to handle the initial fire mitigation, and to design and provide house fire restoration services for the entire home.
What We Did: House Fire Restoration Services
The Kelmann Restoration emergency response team was able to get in the home to document the damages and clean up the damage caused by the fire. During the process of cleaning up the soot and smoke damage, our Contents Restoration department was able to move in and work with all of the homeowner’s personal belongings. Our team cleaned all items and stored them at our Contents Processing Center for the length of the project.
Meanwhile, our Reconstruction department was hard at work, collaborating with the homeowners and their insurance company to get the home back to a state better than before the disaster occurred. Often, when disaster strikes, homeowners will get creative and make design changes that they may have been dreaming about for years. In this case, that’s exactly what happened. The homeowners elected to make some additional remodeling changes to their home, including:
- reinventing a playroom into an office space with a wet bar;
- updating and modernizing their entire kitchen;
- adding a coffered ceiling in their grand room.
The outcome was a beautiful custom home that turned disaster into something positive: a remodeled space for a Wisconsin family to make positive new memories.
