What Happened
A kitchen in Wauwatosa, Wisconsin, suffered smoke and fire damage when the homeowners’ stove caught fire. The family called Kelmann to handle the initial fire remediation, and to work on the kitchen fire remodel.
What We Did: Kitchen Fire Remodel Services
As Kelmann Restoration began work on the remodeling project, our team met with the homeowners to discuss the project’s direction and goals. Since we had to consider replacing cabinets, and integrating new materials with the existing design, the customer decided to make some additional changes to improve their kitchen. We opened up the wall between the kitchen and the dining room, and modified the layout of the kitchen cabinets. The Kelmann team worked with the family to make design decisions and material selections.
The craftsman bungalow charm of the home was retained while increasing usability for the owner. The majority of the improvements were completed within the budget afforded by the insurance claim settlement, minimizing out-of-pocket expense for the homeowner.
